Outliers – A Stereoscopic 3D first in Singapore
December 26, 2009
It was a smashing experience to have the opportunity shooting in stereoscopic 3D for the Outliers short film. It is an action packed genre film about the last of human resistance in a world where a deadly virus has swept across continents. Consisting of a beam splitter rig and dual Red One cameras, the same set-up was first used in “Amphibious 3D”. The shoot went well and I would like to thank the following people:
Director Marcus & Family & Friends who supported the project
Producer Li Ying
The Stereoscopic 3D gurus & great support from Widescreen Media – Ian Wee & Team
The Fantastic Crew – Many thanks for the support!!!

Asian Film Academy 2009
October 20, 2009
It was an honor to be part of the AFA 2009 workshop in Pusan. 24 fellow filmmakers from Asia were split into two teams and each team had to make one short film in 17 days. It was an intense 7 days of prep, 3 days of principal shooting and 4 days of post. I have to salute the AFA Korean production team for giving us all the great support and most importantly, an unforgettable experience. Our Team B fellows did a great job in the production of the short film, ‘A Girl’ 소녀. Great work Team B! I would be posting more about the workshop soon…

Lars Von Trier’s ‘Antichrist’
August 11, 2009
This film by director Lars Von Trier was in competition for the Palme d’Or at Cannes. Apparently, four people fainted while watching it… Doubt it will get screened in local cinemas here. The film was shot primary with the Red One camera. Looks great… check out the trailer.

Wow… respect the time and effort they put into the making of this music video. Everything was hand drawn. Read about it here.
John Lennon’s Inspirational Words…
August 4, 2009
There’s a proposal for a documentary about Singapore’s local music scene shelved somewhere in my Mac… I feel re-inspired to work on it again after reading this (thanks to Huey Min for the link).
Excerpts from an interview with Susan Morgan Cooper (the director of ‘An Unlikely Weapon‘):
5) My method of working
Was it John Lennon who said, ” Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” I try not to get bogged down by a firm plan. I stay open and flexible to discovery. For me, making a documentary is like panning for gold. Each day you pick up handfuls of mud and once in a while, if you’re lucky, you find a small speck of gold and then another, and slowly, you begin to put those glimmering pieces together. My vision didn’t change – only the pieces of gold that supported it.
A blog finally up…
August 3, 2009
I have been procrastinating to set up a blog about my works and love for filmmaking. It is finally up, sort of… least the works/films sections are about there. Please feel free to look around and I appreciate all helpful comments.
Cheers,
Teck
