Teck Siang has been active in the local film industry for several years, taking on a multitude of roles in pursuit of his interest for film. His early professional experience includes working on feature films such as Kelvin Tong’s ‘Kidnapper’, Royston Tan’s ‘Getai’ double-bill ’881′ and ’12 Lotus’, on top of numerous commercials, short films, and print advertisements.

At the 23rd Singapore International Film Festival in 2010, his camerawork for ‘Mu Dan’ was awarded Best Cinematography (Short Film Category) at the Silver Screen Awards. ‘Mu Dan’ also garnered Best Performance. ‘Promises In December’, which won the Best Film and Best Director awards, was also lensed by Teck Siang.

In 2009, he was selected to be part of the Asian Film Academy (AFA), held yearly in Busan, Korea, in conjunction with the Busan International Film Festival. The workshop aims to nurture future Asian filmmakers by providing a meeting ground for young and established filmmakers to work together and share their thoughts and visions. That year, ’Threshold’ (2009), one of his early cinematography works, also premiered in the Wide Angle section of the Busan International Film Festival.

Teck Siang graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Nanyang Technological University and belongs to the pioneer batch of film students from the School of Art, Design & Media. He is currently pursuing his professional cinematography career and has lensed projects in both independent and commercial environments.
